March Services Cancelled

After consultation with others and in consideration of the guidance of state and local healthcare officials and the recommendation of Bishop L. Jonathan Holston, we have reluctantly decided to cancel worship services at Jacksons Grove UMC on March 22nd and March 29th in order to lessen the risk of spreading the COVID-19 coronavirus disease.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide follow-up guidance when necessary. Meanwhile, keep in mind:
1. Rev. Bowers is available by phone/text at 864-316-1784 or by email at should you or someone you know need pastoral services. 2. Our prayer team continues to be operative and you may share your concerns or praises directly to Dr. Jo Quatannens at who will share them with other members of the team.
3. We are suspending our requests for Easter Lilies for our sanctuary on Easter Sunday and inviting everyone instead to send a special contribution for the “Blessing Box” to the church. If you wish to make this gift in tribute to honor or remember someone special, please send a note to that effect along with your check to the church at PO Box 339, Landrum, SC 29356. If the note is received by April 1 we will acknowledge your gift in the bulletin for Easter Sunday’s Service.
4. Our next worship service, unless things change, will be on April 5 – Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week. At this point we still intend to hold the Maundy Thursday Service on April 9th at 7:00 p.m. and the Good Friday Service at 12:00 noon on April 10th.
5. Remember to pray for all who are affected by this illness, those who are caring for them and for those who are working to find effective treatments.
