Missions

The Blessing Box

The Blessing Box  is a ministry started by members of Jackson Grove United Methodist Church with the goal of reducing hunger in Landrum.

It is located by the Landrum Veterinary Hospital at 1600 E. Rutherford Street, and it provides a variety of food items and other household essentials free to the public. Church members stock the box when needed and ask others to leave items when they are able.

Available items could include canned goods, pasta, produce, soap, toothbrushes, pet food and detergent.

The box is always open and the goal is to keep it stocked at all times.

If you are able to help us with this mission, please feel free to leave new, unperishable goods in the box. If you would like to donate money to help keep the Blessing Box filled, please visit the 'Giving' tab on this website, or contact Susi Coghill at greatcog@windstream.net.

Backpack Ministry

The backpack ministry of Jacksons Grove Methodist church is an outreach to O.P. Earle Elementary School, Landrum Middle School, and Landrum High School.

Backpacks of food are provided to those underprivileged students to have something nutritious to eat over the weekend where they might otherwise go hungry.

We spearhead this local effort in collaboration with area churches. Susi Coghill coordinates this ministry that takes place throughout the school year.

If you can help, please contact Susi at greatcog@windstream.net or call the church at 864-510-3199.
